I welcome this move by Harlow Council and County Hall, residents demand action and I’m pleased that Harlow council are taking a lead on this all be-it through a protracted legal process.

I think it is important to remember however that this move is not the sole route to a solutions on traveller encampments in Harlow. My view is that the law needs strengthening on this issue to give more powers to local councils to act and I will continue to call for he current government to do that.

With Harlow County Council doing everything within its power to address this issue, it’s time that the government took its own role in this matter seriously.
